TJM T13 on LX570...anybody?

Alright kids, first post on the 200 forum as we just added a 2010 LX570 to our collection. I’m exhausted from searching every nook and cranny of Mud and the Interweb for anyone that has even attempted to install a TJM T13 onto an LX570. Not looking to be schooled on why I shouldn’t have bought an LX to modify as we are the dumb cruiserheads that actually push the AHC to do what it was designed for and actually love its attributes.

Anyway, can someone please point me to any resources regarding this question. Plenty of info on T13 LC installs but the bumpers, grills, headlights, slopes, fenders, etc are different on the LX. Not really interested in what I have found...ARB, Dobinson, Ironman, etc but cannot find a dang thing regarding the T13 on an LX. Even talked with Wes at TJM and he didn’t know anywhere to point me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks in advance.

Call Slee Offriad. They have installed quite a few and should be able to tell you about compatibility.

Very happy with mine. Hit it hard a number of times in Baja due to high speed stuff...
 
Christo and I chatted Friday and he has not attempted it on the LX570 as of yet. He recommended the ARB Sahara like he has on his which as of now I will be purchasing. Stopping by his shop Tuesday to pick it up but thought I’d ask the experts before committing as I prefer the TJM over the ARB.
 
All of the above. Jason was one of my first calls after seeing your Bumper as that’s more along the lines of what we would like. We had a Shortbus on Mitch’s 80, a Blueberry on a 100 and now a Dissent on Mitch’s new 100. Have talked with James, Jason, Mike, Luke, Ben, Christo, Proline, Viper and all the other forward thinking custom builders and none have anything in the works for our ‘10 LX. Would be nice if we lived in proximity to a good shop where we could just drop it off and let them go to work on a fresh design but no joy. My history comes from many years in the Rover world and I simply have never regarded the ARBs as anything exciting or innovative and always super heavy but functional. In looking at what is available to “potentially” fit, the ARB Sahara without the towel rack isn’t a bad option and I find it more aesthetically pleasing than the Dobinson and Ironman. I’m questioning the TJM based on the great reviews from the current owners and I kinda dig the upright supports being canted rather than perpendicular to the shell. Just trying to close the book on my research before dropping the coin on the Sahara. This bumper will be abused and a winch added so function is paramount but it still would be nice if it enhanced its appearance to me. No offense, but I’ve never thought the 200 to be sexy from any angle but after our experience in the 100 world it simply is the logical step for my current Overland build. I daily drive a Rangie for its comfort and sexiness...we off-road Toyotas for their reliability and capabilities.

I have owned both the Sahara bar and now the TJM T13. Between the two, the T13 is waaaay stronger. I do think ARB’s Bull bar (Deluxe bar) is strong...but without the additional structure involved in the actual bull bars, the Sahara isn’t nearly as strong over-all.
 
Aside from the grille, I think you can use the cut profile, it's pretty far below the lights. I looked at side by side pictures for a while and decided that the grille (at least on a 09) doesn't go any further down (vertical) than an LC, just has a different shape. It might need some depth trimming. Somewhere a couple days ago I ran across the install manual <edit: I just looked and didn't refind the manual, maybe it was an ARB manual I found>, you can download it and print the cut sheets and see what it will do on your truck. There is quite a bit of 'horizontal' plastic bumper below the grille that is retained under the armor (edit: or so I recalled, was wrong. read about in this blog on an arb install LX570>

I've been looking for 'the one' in a front bumper for many weeks. Right now I'm between a T15 and a VPR. I also find the ARB stuff uninspired.
