Hi,

I would like to install some 285/75/R16's on my 2002 LC but am worried about both the fit and the diminished performance if I do. Does anyone have any experience with this? My suspension is stock and I have an ARB bull bar with winch on the front. Thanks for your help.

I run 285/75/16's on my 100 series, I had them on when stock and they fit just fine, I noticed no loss of power, no rubbing.

then I added a ARB bull bar

then I added a set of Slee torsion bars and OME rear springs, raising it about 2.5" (I also then added the Slee diff drop kit)

I say go for it, you will be happy

Looks pretty sweet John!

fender flares? yuck :D the tires are way inside the fenders now.

I think you can go wider a bit, not sure what size that is, the metric stuff confuses me

what about running something a bit bigger, say a 295 or 305 with stock suspension?

I run 295 Terra Grapplers. NO issues with rubbing on the street. I do not think they would rub on the rear in the field but I would imagine a rub on the front in the field. I'll be doing what John did in the VERY near future.

I love the mustard/white 45

I have 305s and even with the OME lift, they rub in tight turns.

Thanks,

That is a great looking truck. Looks like I may have to step up on the tires and start saving for the lift kit.

Pimp, what kinda lights are those? They're massive.

Not to discount your statement, but I find that hard to imagine. My 295's do not rub in the slightest. 295 to 305 is only about an inch or so and with the 2" of lift????

How are people running 315's?

I ran BFG AT 295's on my old 1998 LC without any problems without a lift. After the lift with Sway-A-Way and OME springs I had 315's MTR's with no rubbing. The 315's came really close to the upper A-arm, but never hit it.

Is it possible his 305's are rubbing because he is running wheels from LX470? Is the offset/backspacing the same for both vehicles?

Yep, they sure do rub. May be the weight of the winch and bull bar. Never thought about the LX470 wheels and the backspacing however. Just assumed they were the same as 100 wheels. Very interesting.

yup, Lightforce 240's

they are a bit on the big side, so I took em off and put some IPF's on. I have had the 240's for 2-3 years.....I have yet found a home for them.......they put out some light for sure but I gotta admit......they just look funky.

I have a set of brand spanking new set of OEM fj40 amber fog lights for a fj40........maybe I will try those :D
