Looked up when I had current OME Heavy suspension installed. 2006! I've got a lot of weight both front and rear and debating replacing with the same suspension or going with the J's. Per Cruiser Outfitters site the J's do require some panhard adjustment and not sure I want to go to that extent. Input?

Manafre did the install in 2006. Outside of Yotamaster any other good suspension shops in OC?

I should mention that I've been running with Airlift airbags since my days in Scouting towing a 4000 lb trailer, so those will stay and they handle a lot of rear end weight.

I took my J's off & went with OME Medium Heavy. Very happy! I didn't like what the J's did to my handling. I used caster correction bushings, which were marginal for that height lift, but are perfect for the 2 ½ - 3" lift. J's gave 3 ½ - 4".

I know OME is your current suspension product. Have you ever considered exploring two other premium suspension companies that now seem to have equal or better product selection than OME?
Dobinson suspension or Ironman 4x4 products . I have a dobinson coils and shocks 2.5 lift . Both of these companies have wide product selection as far as springs for a specific application.

Good things heard on both Dobinson and Ironman to the point that my brain is scrambled with too much info. OME has served me well for 14 years.

Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters sells his J package with Slee's castor plate to correct for the increased lift of the J, not just the castor correction bushing. Handling you describe may be why. Just wondering if the J will be too harsh despite all the weight I have.

Any good installation shops local? I drove to Simi Valley last time for Manafre.

I have been following this repair shop on Instagram for quite a while. He is local here in Santa Ana. Aidenjamescustomsllc
I believe this is the correct spelling of his shop. He posts a lot on Instagram, and seems to be well experienced with many different Toyota 4x4 platforms. Does a lot of suspension work . It is a family run business by him and his wife I know he is quite busy but it would be at least a starting point for you?

There is a shop called “Cruiser Tech” in Laguna Hills that could probably do the install for you. I know nothing about the quality of their work buy I saw a few 80’s they worked on that looked nice. The owner took over the business from AOE, which both Joe and Marc had some issues with. May be worth going over and speaking with the owner and checking out online reviews. A suspension swap is fairly easy so it is hard to imagine they could screw it up (now I jinxed it!)...

I am replacing my OME with the Tour Flex 3” tapered coils from @TRAIL TAILOR and have been surprised at how much both load capacity and suppleness increased. I’ve got two trips on the rear coils (just got the fronts but haven’t put them in yet) but eager to see how they do. The “fancy” coils are considerably more money but so far they seem worth it if the weight in your rig varies.
