Hi All:

Is it really worth the trouble to grove old, worn mud tires, attempting to get more life from them?

Thanks!

Alan

I liken it to an instance when I had mushroomed the threads to a tie rod and couldn't get the nut back on it. it was done right? The next stop for the tie rod was going to be the trash while I waited for a new one to arrive in a few days. So i started to whittle with a file, took me about 30 minutes to get the nut back on the mushroomed threads, but I was able to re-use the part that was destined for the scrap pile.
My buddies thought I was stupid for trying it.... but I had nothing to lose. And I won!

That probably depends on the tire, something like a TSL that has a very heavy carcass you can probably run "down to the cords" as my Dad use to say.
