Found several links, and they all say to look for the number following the DOT stamp. Interesting how both sets of BFG's I have on the 81 and the 40, have no DOT stamps. The set of BFG's on the 45 do though. \

This one seems to have lots of info:

On the 81 (285 75 r16 all terrains) read E-23744D, then further along we have T0446E, and then in another location there is an E4 (inside a circle) followed by 007333.

On the 40 (35 x 12.5 r15 mud t/a's) load range C, we have a similar configuration. E-23991-4 T473A 18496.

I know the ones on the 40 are old, probably mid to late 80's even. Lots of tread still though, along with lots of gouges and chunks.

The 45 (33 X 9.5 r15 mud t/a's) are marked DOT B E 88 YJ1 124

And brand new Nokia's on the Sienna :)

All tires have the code but they have the code on only one side. The tires on my BJ60 are all with just 3 numbers, meaning they are at least 1999 or older. I just drove up from Central America with them and they have been fine though I'm keeping my maximum speed at 100kph or less.

I'll be changing them on Monday.
