Hi,

I want to remove both, upper and lower steering column covers on my 93 FZJ80. I didn't have a problem removing the upper one. But in order to remove the lower one, the cruise control thingy is on the way. Is there are tips for removing the lower one without removing part of the instrument panel?

Thanks,
Alex

Did you take the screws out? It should come right off after that.

Doc,

I did take the screws out and removed the upper one. But when I try to remove the lower one, cruise control is on the way.

Alex -
I've removed mine before, trying to remember for sure, but you may have loosen the lower dash panel in order to get clearance to twist/manipulate the cover around the cruise control. For sure did not have to touch the "instrument panel."

Mine was a piece of cake to take off. But I can't remember now if I took off the lower dash trim piece or not. I think there are about 4 screws holding that piece on as well...

Yes, remove the lower dash panel and it comes right off.
