I just purchased a 1997 Land Cruiser 40th & I want to tint the front windows so that they match the factory tint on the rest of the truck. Is there a color code or some kind of tint code I should specifically ask for when I take it in, or do I just rely on the shop to do their best to match the factory tint?

they should beable to look it up w/your vin just like if someone broke your window out some times it is tinted glass and doesnt have the film on it . Its baked right into the glass at least thats what i used to run into when i worked at the body shop

I've seen shops (and the police, BTW) also have a small device to measure the degree of the tint.
