Timing question is this:
I replaced my head. The truck hasn't budged an inch throught the whole process. With everything replaced and the initial valve torquing, is my timing at the same place it was before the original head was pulled. Can I just start it up as is or does it need to be reset right away?

Carb:
Same question basically, is it essentially going to function as it did before if I put it back on w/out adjusting it?

timing

If you have not removed your distributor, the timing will be the same. If you have, you must put it back in exactly as it was when you removed it. Or, move the motor to top dead center on #1 piston and install rotor on or approaching #1 spark plug wire. Then, check timing with timing light. Carb should run the same as long as you have not changed any of the linkages during the removal or jiggled some crud loose in the bowl.

Heartworms right. Unless you move or remove the dizzy or for some reason removed the timing cover and messed with the gears it should all be the same.

Yes, installation angle of distrubutor makes difference of ignition timing.
