I adjusted my timing, set it at 11 deg. for my altitude, vacuum gauge moved from 12-14.5.

Power improved! I wanted to keep turning my distributor but the hold down clamps are not allowing me to turn more from no clearance between my dizzy cap and the engine side cover.

So,... how can I adjust the dizzy cap clamps? or should I stop and be happy with my new vacuum at 14.5 (seems low from what I have read)

no pinging, just wanted to get the vacuum gage to reach its max before backing it off....

I did not install the distributor. It may be off somehow?

Thanks in advance

Stock distributor? You could try running a dished side cover from an FJ60. Or you could try taking out the distributor and reinstall it one tooth more advanced.

10-4, thanks.
