It's coming from driver side, a very loud and distinct ticking which seems to be louder now then in the past. Is it a lifter problem and what is a reasonable amount to get them fixed? What does the job entail?

Get an automotive stethoscope & go around the engine while running. You'll narrow it down. Second yourname on the ex leak!
[edit] Just noticed you had installed an SOR header - hope you used the thick SOR Kevlar gasket. Sounds like you're probably going back to your mechanic with a new leak.
Highly unlikely that the head is warped/cracked to produce the leak, most likely the PITA intake/exhaust manifold nuts/studs!
