Hey all

Question - does anyone else’s 100 series have a slight delay on accelerating?

To try and describe the symptom of my problem.. if I’m coasting and then put my foot on the pedal there’s a slight delay before the revs go up and it feels like the car jolts. So for smooth acceleration I have to very gently put my foot down

I was testing it yesterday on a long journey and can see the rev gauge also has a delay of about half a second then revs jump up as the car jolts

It’s very slight if I’m careful but in normal driving it happens unless I keep my foot on the throttle slightly

If the car is stationary then it doesn’t happen at all

Is this normal or a sign of a fault?

Hopefully described the issue well enough

EDIT

Another form has told me it could be the throttle position sensor so i read codes using my obd reader. However I got screenshots of the live values both engine off and on but no one could tell me if the values are ok or if they confirm that the TPS is the culprit

Can anyone here please look and let me know?

Assuming you checked the air filter and it's clean, buy a can of MAS cleaner and clean the MAS and see if that help. If that doesn't solve the issue, check your ignition coils, make sure they have no cracks in them and check the spark pugs. Also check and clean the throttle body, when dirty they tend to stick.
