I am trying to decide between the km94 and km110 kombi power heads. It will be used residentially with the edger and articulating hedge trimmer attachments primarily. Price is essentially the same. I prefer a true 2-cycle over the hybrid 2/4-cycles. My main concern is the reliability of the 94, being it is a newer model.

Anyone have any first hand experience with either?

I have a fs130, it is on the heavy side. The 94 powerhead weighing a pound less than the 110 sounds great, especially with a hedge trimmer. I have alot of hedges to trim. Tuesday I'll have a chance to go the the dealer and try each out.

Thanks for the reply D'animal, glad to hear the 94's are reliable. I hope they run like the FS80's did.

If you ran I tank of fuel in a new (4137 series) FS 80 and a new FS 94, you would think the FS 80 is a tank. It is Slow and sluggish compared to the FS 94.

The "Eco Wheel" cruise control takes a few minutes to get used to. The unit has so much power that it is bumping against the governor unless you have it under a load.

I use .105" line in a 25-2 head and have the Eco wheel turned back about 1/8 of a turn.

You are also going to be amazed how long it runs on 1 tank of fuel.

You probably won't use your FS 130 too much in the future. :)

I got the km94 and the articulating hedge trimmer attachment. I like it so far. I had to check with 10 Stihl dealers before I found one that had the 94 kombi power head in stock.
