Hey guys, well today my 99 had what I think is the throttle position sensor problem. Running fine then the check engine light comes on. No throttle response unless its floored. Once floored the motor revs right up. But nothing until its floored. It also idles faster than before. What do you think?

Thanks,
BC

BTW, no cruise control either

Have the engine gotten wet lately? You can try cleaning the contacts where the throttle sensor position is, the air mass sensor as well. (right next to the air cleaner)

Good luck.

Attach code reader, read code, look up in FSM;)

Sorry, the code reader and the FSM were the best investments I've made so far.

If you can give me a code I'll look it up.

Well, my throttle has started working again and my check engine light went off. Could it be water? I did get a car wash the day before and it got down to -10 or so that night.

thanks,
BC

I dont have a code reader. I also live about 3 hours from a stealership. Ill see if anybody has one around here.

Just about any auto parts store should check your code for free. I know Auto Zone does.
