I just bought the headers to replace my manifolds that cracked for the second time. Stealership wants 14 hours labor at nearly $100/hr for the job. Is there anyone in the region, Northern MA or Southern NH that can be trusted to do the job right?

We have decided to keep the truck a couple more years so I am getting some work. Just did a 5K mile trip across country and it ran so well...besides the manifold tick...

Thanks in advance

Eric

It shouldn't take them 14 hours to put them on in a professional garage. You know you're always going to pay inflated labor rates from a dealership. I put mine on in the driveway in less than 12 hours and I was moving at a snails pace. I am probably a :banana::banana: mechanic and it wasn't that difficult. So long as you've got a second set of hands, a floor jack and a multitude of socket and wrench accessories you might save yourself a very big chunk of change doing it yourself. There is a lot of information regarding the install on these boards.

I had mine done in May 2012 at Lou's Custom Exhaust located in Waltham, MA on Bacon St. I paid $725 for the installation which included a front end alignment since they had to disconnect some steering components to gain easier access. I supplied all the parts and paid cash. They got it done in one day.

Landtank in Northern Mass or Overland Engineering in Elliot Maine (near Kittery) both <$100/hr.

Thanks for the recommendations. Going to try to get this done next week.
