No affiliation, just checking 40 series stuff on eBay.
If you have a 40 series you should have this set. It's easy to install and makes a huge difference.
It includes the New bulbs, New wiring, New plugs, New relays, and good instructions.
I don't track the pricing often, but there are some great prices on this set.
$48 ($28 + 17 shipping + est. 8% tax)

Also Toyota parts deal has the same set, shipped, for $33.76. I've ordered from them in the past and after I paid they have said 'out of stock' YMMV.

Either way, this is a great price on an upgraded FJ40 product from Mr. T.

Your local Toyota dealer may even be cheaper; I've heard of them selling under $20 + tax.

Yes, local dealer likely has a much better deal.
 
Do the housings look similar to the factory ones? I remember seeing some before that were kinda flat and stuck out further, didn't look quite as nice as the stock ones. Not sure if this sounds familiar to anyone
 
They' are flat and stick out a little. Imo, they look better than a lot of other light kits and the price is right. The performance is a ton better than any stk sealed beam.

With and without, left to right. A little bit different but the light output diff. is substantial

$19 and change from my local dealer. I now just buy these kits for the zip ties and throw away the rest.

Sorry for my ignorance: as "corrrect relays" can be the 24V relays already existing in the 24V BJ or I have to purchase new ones, specific to the kit?
In the second case which are these relays?

Both lights, full harness, relays and a fat stack of quality zip ties. Have these in my 40 and they are really good. It’s the same kit several vendors sell for quite a bit more.

This kit has been around for a while. If you go to post #54 thru 62 shows various bulb light patterns.

Back the plug out a bit

Get a good grounded wire and touch it to the ground post on the bulb. See if that fixes it. If so just spline in a ground wire.
