I've got a metric ton of s*** to do.

Full engine tune, balance wheels and tires, wire the rear window up, install some lighting so I can see, and actually wheel the truck to make sure it works...

I may be wrong, but I think that is the exact same post you put up last year.... :flipoff2: though I may have you beat. At least yours is headed in the right direction.

I got a house to finish, crap to clean out of the barn and then I can actually start on my "to-do" list, which will include: installing Slee kit, PT T-case with Marks low range gear, front hubs and complete front end rebuild, fluid changes, new fan and shroud, check motor mounts and replace as needed, new battery, sorting out the A/C, replacing rear heater soft lines and clamps and what ever else I come up with once I actually get it in the shop so I can stare at it for a minute.

It should be some good times and I am looking forward to some shop time with the little :princess: who enjoys "helping" me out. I think that may be one thing that I am looking forward to most. :)

It may be the same thing I posted last year. The list was longer last year. I'm a little closer this year and hope to have it done. My daughter likes to come out to the garage and help out. Makes me smile and laugh. My son helps a little every now and then. Trying to get him interested in the 40. We'll see............

You got it whooped this year. I fully intend to be drooling over it at GSMTR this year. Ima go ahead and put it on the ballot for whichever award is the one for the rig everbody wants to take home. :D

I don't know about that. :D

Completed all greasing, oil checks, etc... this weekend. Should be done with everything except for packing (everything sorted out already)...will alternate driving both 40s to work all week and make sure no gremlins rear their heads. No sure if i will get around to pulling hard top this year.

between waiting on parts and running out of money, its not gonna be ready for GSMTR. It will have to wait another year dang it. Sorry guys, I'm as disappointed as anyone. I really thought it was gonna be ready. Time and money were not on my side. Hope to have it done in the next month or two. Plan on wheeling it when it is finished. See the thread " The Trail Ride Thread " for when it will be out and about.

Hey guys, I'm going to make it Friday and honestly don't have a clue what I'm doing. I've not been to Wind Rock or the GSMTR. I was planning on leaving Morristown around 9am and it will probably take 1.5 hours to get there so should be there around 10:30. Will everyone be gone by then on the trails? Do I need to stop at the Wind Rock store and buy a permit? Can I just take off on a trail? Since I'm in a new rig and don't know much about it or the area, I was planning on doing some easy trails. I mostly want to get out and see the area and hopefully get to meet some of the guys from Appalachian Cruisers. Is there a time frame that everyone will be back from riding? If I wanted to get some pics and video of the guys riding the more difficult trails, do they have by-passes where you don't have to take the harder part of the trail? Thanks for your help and look forward to getting out for the day.

Not sure when everyone will be rolling out. I will be in my DD this year so I am not planning on doing much more than the gravel roads, particularly if the rain they are calling for hits. As far as watching, depending on what they are running, you can generally ride to the beginning or end of a trail and walk in a little ways and watch. We did that last year and it was good fun. I honestly haven't got a plan this year since we are rolling DD, for sure going to make the windmill run to let my little bit check those out. Other than that, probably going to scout the trail map and try to make a plan this week, but probably just make it up as I go.

That's what we plan on, just hitting some gravel roads and hope to watch and take pics of the guys that know what they're doing. Is there a channel that everyone keeps their CB on?

I'll be in this, if you see me, give me a shout

Nice ride 10ga, as for the time frame when we pull out to hit the trails, it depends what activities happen the night before. We usually roll out between 10 and 11. We usually get back to the camp site around 4 or 5. Just depends what trails we hit and how far we go out. If you hang around our camp site, near the gate to the primitive camp ground area, we will be back around there to eat and relax. Just look for the Appalachia Cruiser banner.

I'll definitely try to find you guys. I should be there around 1030 Friday morning. Thanks!

I see that, I'm hoping they miss that forecast. Either way, I'll be there. I've got to show property to the manager of the National Weather Service in Morristown tomorrow, I'll see if he can do something about that rain :)
