"I thought Belize was an island ! It’s in South Africa right? When and where are you going to put your truck on the ship?” These are just a few of the crazy questions I get daily when I we tell people we are moving to Belize. Not everyone but many don’t know where Belize is. But, I bet you many Belizeans could look at a map and show you where New York, DC or Los Angeles is. So to make the story sweeter after telling them about Belize, I’ll add that you have to drive through Mexico to get there. Then the conversation gets real dicey. But that’s another story in itself and you’ll have to stay tuned to enjoy our drive through Mexico. So for now lets talk about Belize and our drive."

Who are they talking to? Do you know them?

why do Americans not know where Belize is?

Who are they talking to? Do you know them?

I "know" Bernard, he used to have an 80 series, I dont know if we met through his blog, facebook, portal or what. Back in 2012 I thought I was going to be the next Dave Druck so I was talking to everyone and their dog to see if I could get hooked up with a expo team.

This was the first thing Bernard sent me about their work.

You thought you were gone be the next Dave druck?
Be your damn self!
No stealing peoples usernames, no "being like mike". YOUR SELF!
Life is more fun that way. You'll waste your entire life trying to be like someone else.

On that topic of life. Does anyone ever visit their grandparents grave sites? How about great-grandparents?
My grandfather is buried in Trussville, across from best buy. HUGE cemetery. His remaining two living children prolly haven't been to his grave site in decades. Now that I'm up here, every time I'm over there eating rock n roll sushi, I stop by for a while. May seem odd, maybe it is, but after I quit stopping by, his site will never get visitors for solely him. Crazy how fast we forget our dead.
It's even crazier how fast we live. Live life to YOUR fullest. No one else's.

You get one life.
Unless of course, you're Hindu.

My grandmother's side should say 1913 - 2011. I asked the funeral director how they would add the raised letters since they had been there for 50 years - she just said she would take care of it. They are buried in Zachary LA so I can't just pop over to check and it isn't on the way to anywhere. One day soon I will have to make a trip over.

Understand. I had never visited my grandfathers site since he died in the late 70's.
I was taking my mom and sister to sushi one night when they were up here and my mom was all "that's where daddy is..."
It's also where her sister and brother in law are too.
Oddly, my grandmother is buried in Brundidge, not with he husband. She never lived up here. People just didn't divorce very often in that generation.

Jobs is a wise man

When I still lived in Memphis, I'd stop by and see my grandparents' plot in Memorial Park cemetery. I actually rode my bike over there to see them before I could drive. No particular reason, never left flowers or anything, just felt nice to go by and sit for a bit and think about them.

Ok....
So I need the famous chicken recipe

Can someone help me out
