Man, with some more notice I'd be down. We ought to all go as a club on a Sunday some time, wives, kids, etc. Buy a block of tickets.

When we went on opening night the lines to buy beer were ridiculous. Not sure if it was just the rush of folks, or logistics fine tuning or what, but heads up.

give trust, I'ma club me one while I'm there.

DLC's B'ham Skeeball League team, Ahh Skee Skee, will be down a man on Thursday since ShuntSkee will be out of town for work.

He says Clank is pretty skeeled.

Our time slot is 10:30 PM, and we could use another roller. Clarence you in? Anyone else want to join?

We get our roll on at 10:30, and I'm planning on getting there around 10:00 or so probably. Maybe a little earlier. Depends on how things go getting the kiddo bathed and to bed and dogs fed.

I'm down to go whenever, if you want to show up earlier, Matt. 9-ish maybe?

I'm still living in Thomasville, AL. Too much excitment for the average person. Actually saw a 100 the other day and got real excited.

Well my reading comprehension skills clearly are amazing. Got to love that Birmingham city education.

I've heard a couple of people talk about putting an order together for some of the inexpensive light bars to see if we could just get a deal going for local folks. Brian and Hal I think were talking about it. Anyone else interested? Buddy of mine, Paul, from tacomaworld (even though he wheels an XJ), was thinking about it too.

I just ordered from Nick (2000UZJ) at ELS. He is the resident light expert on IH8mud, designed the reflectors and housings that the chinese manufacturer is now selling to everyone , and will back his product up. Too many group buys have gone bad from people who are not importers trying to get in on this. It was $340 for a 32" bar shipped to me.

Here is a real good example is the guy trying to do a huge GB and not keeping people informed of delays.

Good info. I guess it's not terribly easy to put together a small order and ship direct? I heard someone mention that the Hanma ones you could order in like 8-10 unit orders from one of the distributors.

I was thinking more that we'd get just club guys / friends who wanted to do it, order, and just wait it out. I have no desire to attempt to manage the fustercluck that is a forum group buy.

Apparently dealing with customs is a nightmare with these and seems like a ton of work just to save the equivalent of half tank of gas. I'm as thrifty as they come but but with the ELS light from UZJ100 after searching all over Pirate4x4, ebay and amazon. To me, the extra $30 or so is well worth it to have a warranty and no hassles. I think once customs and shipping is calculated in, the difference in doing it yourself and buying from a vendor isn't much.

I know there are a few local guys on hardline crawlers/caos selling lights as well.

They are all very similarly priced.

I just emailed hanma directly and ordered through them. Lights came in from china like 4 days later. Last email I had with them they were being a little stingy and saying I had to do a 30 item minimum qty. I can always try again, but at this point I don't have the money to front like 15 lights like I did last time. I had considered buying and reselling but I deemed the market in my area a little too small. I'd most likely saturate it myself after one order.

As far as hanma goes, I have the 50" and 10" and I am incredibly impressed with both. A guy I wheel with has the RI 50" and mine actually has a further throw. Not bad considering I paid around 250 and he paid over a grand.

We had an ok night, mostly rolled in the 200's, with a few rounds under 200. Matt mean mugged Skee Six Mafia like a champ. Their team members girl, orange, and gray, were no match for our skeels.

Ahh Skee Skee's record thus far:

Exhibition tourney: 2nd place
Game 1: Win

Some team had a girl sink 4 hundo's, for a total game score of 540. Hopefully she'll be sick the night that we have to play them... Schweatty Balls had a guy roll a 550 in that set. That's gonna be an ugly match up as well.

Edit: why the hell is the keyword engine tagging skee skee as a hot link. Noooottttt gonna click on that one.

Check it out...
