We'll today I officially sold the Range Rover...so now starts the full force hunt for the right "Locked" FZJ80. It's a major monkey off my back to get rid of the Range Rover.

For a humorous read...click the link below. This is how I felt!

Congratz.
Lextexautomotive has a nice fully locked FJ80 for sale for $5000. PM him and tell him I sent you.

I know, he already said I could buy it as long as I never sold it to you...

The Hunt is ON!

How is the search going? i had a possible locked truck in the shop last week i tried to buy for you, but they decided to repair some of the many deficiencies in the truck and tow it up north.
Still looking for a locked truck.

Still looking, the problem I'm having is I'm sort of limited to finding one at a dealership now cause I only have about 5,000 in cash towards this thing and most of them are selling for around 7,000-9,000. Getting a used car loan for such an old vehicle is impossible soooo, its been slow and limited. I'm just bumming rides from my roommate right now.

Let me know if you find anything and thanks for looking!

Talk to your local credit union. They always do loans on older cars as long as you don't borrow more than they are worth.

Agreekboy up in Greenville still has Glenns old rig for $4500 if you can live without the lockers for a little while. Heck you buy the lockers and probably have Glenn install ARB's for $2000-$3000 and have a nice locked rig for less than $7500 easy.

If you don't have to have leather, which doesn't hold up as well, you really need to take a look at the rig in Greenville. I have pics and the service records that Glenn performed on it before it left Charleston.

It got about $4000 worth of engine parts, not counting Glenn's labor, rebuilding the entire thing, with all new A/C, new brakes, axle seals, tranny and diff service.

It only has a couple thousand miles on it since all the work has been done.

Plus it just had a new OME lift installed with new 33" BFG AT's.

He only wants $4500 for it! I am only advocating this sale because if somebody doesn't buy this thing soon, I will be forced to buy it on principal and the wife will kill me.

I always thought those had V8 engines in them...did not know they came with 6cyl too? Were the bigger motors a thing of the more recent models?

40's, 60's and 80's all had inline 6'ers. The V8's started in the 1998 & up UZJ100's.

FJ40- 2F inline 6
FJ60- 2F inline 6
FJ80- 3FE inline 6
FZJ80- 1FZ-FE inline 6
UZJ100- 2UZ-FE V8

The J stands for Land Cruiser, and the number is the series model.

The letters and numbers in these models do actually stand for something. According to your badge you are driving a 120 Prado with an F motor from the 70's/80's.;)

A GSJ15 badge would be more accurate, but I know you really wish you were driving a real Land Cruiser hence the FJ120 badge over the FJCruiser badge.:flipoff2:

62's also have a 3FE(first ones) 1988

Yep, for sake of time I didn't want to list all small variations like 43's, 45's, 47's, etc.

While we are on it don't forget about the FJ55 and there is still the 70 and 90 series in the foreign market.

Congratulations on your new purchase. I knew you were talking about buying one but didn't know you finally sacrificed the 2 bills.
