I've written up a rough list of Board of Director duties. This isn't set in stone, it's based mostly on what the folks in place now have been doing and future Boards are welcome to formalize it more if they like, but it gives you an idea.

The basic goal is to BE INVOLVED! You'll exchange emails and phone calls with the rest of the BOD, you'll work hard at Fall Gathering, you'll each take some responsibility for the day to day running of the club.

I've found the job very rewarding. I was very new to offloading and YT when I started and it was a sensational way to immerse myself in the sport/hobby and meet a whole lot of great people.

President:
Monitor the MUD forum and try to answer any pertinent questions about the club and club activities. Work together with the rest of the BOD to plan events and trail runs. Sets and runs meetings.

Major expenditures and any discipline issues are decided on my a vote with the entire board. Whenever necessary major decisions are put to BOD vote.

Vice President:
2nd to the President, assists in all the same executive duties

Treasurer:
Manages the club funds, maintains the checking account, pays out to the NEA yearly, collects dues and event fees.

Secretary:
Helps manage the MUD forum, keeps notes from meetings and assists the BOD in executing votes and other BOD business

Event Coordinator:
Spearheads event planning, generally the Event Chair for Fall Gathering. Works hand in hand with…

Trails Director:
Works with Event Coordinator and BOD to receiver NEA trials and set Trail Run schedule.

Membership Director:
Oversees the old Email list, assists Treasurer with keeping membership rolls current.

NEA4WD Delegate: (need 2)
Attends NEA meetings (6 per year) and votes on YT's behalf

I'll start, i'm in for the Treasurer position. I'm good with numbers, email and positive cash flow (ok, 2 out of three isn't bad).

How long are the terms? I'm interested in a few of the positions. I have 2 years before diaper changing where I can commit much of my attention to the needs of the club.

I am also new to Yankee toys and have have only met 2 people from this group but would like to meet all. I have tried to get to some events and life has got in the way. As far as the club still wheeling, of course that should stay in effect, its why all joined, for there love of Toyota's. Once life gets settled some I will be trying to make as many events and activities as I can. Though toys for tots is not an exclusive Yankee toys thing, I am planning on coming down. I like volunteering and like building so I think activities like trail clean ups or habitat for humanity stuff sounds good to me. Karma, get what you give in life. Though I do not know current leadership, thanks for all you have done to make Yankee toys a organization i want to be involved in.

Just a note that we are still seeking volunteers to run for office. Please let me know if you are interested in running for a position of club leadership.

A Call for Officers

Hey All-
As I had mentioned before, I would like to leave this thread up as a place for you to add suggestions.
I like the open "Town Hall Meeting" feel of it.
Please feel free to take the floor!
