Had a mini-Abbotsford Cruiser meeting today. Charles and Petra have arived from Guatemala. Charles is sporting a broken leg held together with chunks of iron - just like any old 60 series frame. ;p Simon (aka Goldboy) was down from Hedley to have some work done to his AC. Actually, a PM from him last night saying he was going to be around Abby for the day started the ball rolling. Rob, like me, snuck out of work and we met down at Timmy's. Too bad Charles and Petra won't make it for our Cruiser Days or the July meeting. They are aound Abby for a bit now and will be back later in July. They got some great pics of their work in Guatemala.

No, but I do believe he was sporting a new knee.

No, that was a new hip!

This time it was simply tripping over something.

I must seem like a walking accident waiting to happen :)

Tripping over something, that must suck after having such good mobility for a while.

It most definitely does!! I'll need to take it easy (no rock scrambling or other activities that could twist the ankle) now for the next year once I'm mobile again so that the ligaments are totally healed. At least I got to climb the volcano before this (yes, that IS molten lava in the background).

If anyone want's to get together over coffee just send me a PM with your contact info and we'll see what we can do!

That volcano kind of looks like a giant turd.

Anyway, take care Charles!

When are you heading back?

It would be one VERY sharp turd then! You can't see it but fresh lava is razor sharp too.

We're in the area till July 6 when we head to the Kootenays and then we're back from July 20 to 25 before heading south again.

Enjoyed spending some time with Charles and Petra today, as I have followed their work on their web page. I also have a landcrusier bj60, some diesel vw'sn and a Vixen. Some of the vixen fellows go down to Panama each year and may join them in January this year. I live over in the McMillan area.

Hmmm.... kinda looks like a vehcle from "Total Recall". I hope you have one of the turbo diesel versions. Must get pretty good milage with it's low co-efficeint of drag.

LOL Here's me thinking with a name like Vixen, Petra's not going to be happy with me giving you Charles' contact info.

Cool vehicle. I often seen it down on W Railway and wondered about it.

Seeing as there are some many Cruiser heads in Abbotsford area, maybe we should have a regular coffee hour/lunch at Timmy's once per month? I'll post the idea in a different thread.

Just up at Kamloops visiting relatives about 25 miles out of town. 246 miles and 32 liters of fuel. Usually averages about 34 miles per gallon. The blue one you see on Railway street is one of 6 blue ones built, and it is not mine. That is Todd's from Vancouer who has been getting Key motors to do some modifications to his. Mine is usuallyt tucked away in my garage.

Hard to understand how this 7000 lb vehicle that has more acceleration and power than my BJ 60 can also get so much better fuel economy. Maybe the low drag as it cuts through the air at ,26 coeffecient of drag.

Today up at the car show in Penticiton and it is incredible. Weather is great, Elvis impersonators concert also on.
