Well this is sort of chit chat but its about my 1993 fzj 80 so here it goes. The beast has 240k on it and I just put on 315's, and the j spring lift. Anyway, I did not regear it as of yet so I thought it would do worse than it did. Yesturday the wife, daughter, and I went to Santa Cruz to surf and on our way we had to go over San Luis Res. That was a steep hill to climb. The beast did it no problem, actually did not go slower than 60 mph. I was impressed to say the least. So it cruised the whole way, besides the normal (normal for my cruiser that is) open door light on dash and the clunking from the driveline when letting off the gas. Speaking of that, I need to really fix that some day. Anyway, trip was fun and the tires and lift were actually very nice on the road. Thats it, thats all I had to say. Chans :D

That climb up through Pacheco Pass isn't too bad. It's fairly steep, but isn't too long.

I have 315s with stock gearing as well -- there was a climb we had coming out of Death Valley this past March that kicked my 80s butt. I was struggling at 25mph towards the top of that puppy. It was a LONG climb. Aside from that one though...I haven't had any serious issues. Quite a bit more hunting for gears on longer climbs...but nothing major.

Finally, here are a couple of pictures of the beast. When there is more money coming in (none at this time due to still trying to find a job, oh anyone want to hire a new grad with his BA in Economics???) Anyway, just sharring some pictures of the beast.
