I have a thought on your previous issue. With no return from the Sniper, the flow rate in the supply line is less and has more time to heat up sitting over the exhaust manifold. Maybe it was a vapor issue??

I doubt that is a vapor issue due to heat, because once I could get the engine above 160 degrees, the 2F performed just fine. The stalling while coming to a stop problem only occurred from an initial 'Cold Start' until the engine reached 160 degrees.

Every time I talked with Holley, one question they always asked, "What was the fuel pressure at the carb?" The last conversation with them, before the C19, they said I either had an exhaust leak or fuel pressure issue. Knowing that I don't have an exhaust leak, it had to be with fuel pressure. I don't have a gauge, so I don't know the pressure at the carb......However, what I did know, is that my Sniper ran good before the installation of the "Corvette Filter/Regulator". With my hillbilly deductive reasoning, I figured that filter combo was messing up the pressure somehow. Note, the Sniper system I installed was designed to run with a supply line, and a fuel return line. So I plumb'd it up per their design, and it works better now.

Take this with a grain of salt: So, does that mean the "Corvette Filter/Regulator" is a bad option? The answer is; "I don't know." But what I do know, that specific unit didn't work for my application, or it is my lack of knowledge knowing how to program the Sniper to overcome the problem.

Yeh, I forgot it only happened when cold. Hmm. Who knows. Too bad you didn't have a gauge on it. I knew I wanted a gauge entering the Sniper right off the bat. Good thing as It let me quickly find the bad regulator that the new Sniper shipped with. Now I even have a vacuum gauge on the suction side of the Walbro.

Rick I have been following this with keen interest. So glad to hear she is running better now. I know this system will be crucial to what you plan on in the future. But I am not letting that cat out of the bag! Mine runs great with a JimC rebuilt and tuned OEM carb. What are the biggest improvements you see, responsiveness, smoothness of power delivery and idle or just ease of operation without traditional choke, etc. Nice work buddy Tom

Here's an interesting follow-up to my 3/24/20 post #1,595 regarding my spark plugs.

Here is how my new plugs looked after about 400 miles using the Corvette filter/regulator set-up:

I've put about 50 miles on my rig since removing that filter/regulator and installing the filter as well as both supply & return lines. Remembering I needed to clean the plugs up, I took them out this past weekend. To my surprise, here is what they looked like:

They went from being 'carbon fouled' to 'ok' just like that. Note, the two photos above are of the same #2 spark plug, and only a few miles apart and no cleaning.

With the sniper installed, what are you doing with your choke knob? I’ve contemplated adding the sniper, but to be honest, I really love the nostalgia of the manual choke and I would miss that endearing cold morning routine (not being sarcastic). Weird I know.

The "Choke Knob" is resting in an OEM parts box. The "Choke Hole" is the new home of a RAM mount that holds the Sniper's Touch Screen Controller. My initial thought was to locate the hand throttle there, but the cable wasn't long enough. Thus it was located in it's standard location at the bottom of the dash.

I really like the idea of the hand throttle taking that spot. It’s functional, and an OEM item. I have roof mounted light bars facing front and rear. I used a 4 position wiper controller in one of my extra OEM dash holes to run the lights. OFF-REAR-FRONT-BOTH. I sanded down the face of the knob so it’s currently blank but I am looking for someone to engrave AUX LIGHTS on the knob.

On Wednesday morning, I logged a dlz file from a cold start to about 160 degree engine temp on my way to work. It was probably about three to five minutes of driving? I sent the dlz file to Holley for their review. I just heard back and the setup looks good and they did not advise any adjustments at this time.

Happy Easter to all....after a Sermon in the Garage and a few prayers, I did a final cleaning then laid down some Dicor in the roof gutters.

In a few weeks, I'll pick up a spray gun and paint the entire roof with some Cygnus White T-012. Then I'll put it up for storage.

Hey Rick. What is Dicor and did it work good? Are you still happy you used it? I am almost to that point and was planning on using 3M self leveling seam sealer. Please let me know. Thanks.

Dicor is an EPDM self leveling lap sealant that is used mainly for sealing around RV's roof top units and other roof penetrations. It has held up alright. If I had to do it again, I'd probably use the 3M stuff because that seems to be the product most everyone suggest works best.

FWIW... I used the Dicor sealant as well - I let the Architect do all the research for cool projects then sorta ‘borrow’ them
*Full disclosure: my top didn’t turn out as pretty as his but it was definitely an improvement!
