Hey guys,
I thought I saw/heard someone mention bringing back the Thanksgiving weekend run. Any one still thinking about doing it? Need to find an event to do with the FJCTTs that weekend.
Later,
Ron

Ron, Phil A. was talking about heading back down to Anza Borrego, which is also where So Cal Chapter usually does Thanksgiving.

Phil brought a copy of an article about some rockcrawling canyon that runs alongside Hwy 8 on the south side. Looked a little hairy, but I'm tempted to try it. Hopefully I will have my new tube fenders on by then. Still, the author didn't recommend trying the trail without minimum size 35" tires, so I don't know about bringing the FJC. Of course Borrego is a BIG place, so it's not like there won't be other things to do.

Maybe a run thru the slot, down the Devil's dropoff and thru Fish Creek. I could meet you guys out there Friday morning and run trail with you back to Borrego. Got to stick at the casa Thursday tho for the bird thing.

See you Tuesday.

Best

Mark A.

Maybe "WE" could just go to Truck haven hills insted.....

The So. Ca. TLCA club is planning to be out at Truckhaven Hills over Thanksgiving weekend and any of you guys are welcome to join us. If you have not been out there it is a great place to wheel and is suitable for both highly modified and stock trucks. It is also great place to bring motorcylces or quads. Most of us usually get out there the Friday after Thanksgiving and stay through Sunday but some people may get there earlier to secure a camping spot. Let me know if you are interested and I will keep you posted our plans. I hope to see some of you out there!

Here is a link to some photos of one of our Truckhaven runs:

New plan: CALICO!

I might be up for a run out there on Saturday. Have to stay home Friday for a second family dinner.

our fearless leader...

I posted this on the mud events/runs and on the FJ Cruiser board. Hmmm so new blood perhaps...:D

I was thinking about meeting up at I-15 and Bear Valley Rd. or... to caravan out?

Run will be at Calico. We will be camped out in Mule cyn. by 9AM and wheeling all weekend.
See ya there
Ron

What happened to Ron Q.? SCORE injury? Link to story?

I don't think I'm gonna be able to make this one after all. Too much going on at the casa. Wife reminded me that I've already been on 16 trips this year, so this holiday would be a good one to spend at home.

the trip was cool lots of trucks. led a run to wall street on sat, coming back in the dark was sweet. seeing all those trucks making there way down through the hills was awesome. it seemed the whole ridge line was lined with Christmas lights, wow. I don't know how Many there was but it seemed like a hundreds, even a couple of lost souls that had taken a wrong turn somewhere.

:skull: Duran, I think is now impossible. It was crushing and spiting out the bones of all who attempted this gate keeper from hell. The carnage was incredible, snap, crack, bang, and another lifeless hulk was dragged out to be discarded like some old tin can tossed to the side of the road. Then the next would attempt it like a brave knight off to fight the mighty dragon, only to be broken and smashed by the mighty Calico rocks. :skull:

This thread is WORTHLESS without pics!;p
