Thanks to Rob, Dwight, Matt, and Carl I made it home from Crozet and my wife didn't have to come fetch me with the trailer. It was a good day with good people - thanks again for all of your help.

Glad to see you made it back ok. Thanks again for the air, it costs way to much to air up 34s at a gas station.

Me and ann managed to again find the s***tiest service ever at the charlottesville hardees, i bet you were home before we got our damn food. "Oh yeah, the milkshake is thin like that from the malt, thats what it does."

Bob,

I was more than happy to stay and help, I have been in that same situation myself before. My wife had calmed down by the time I got home and the left overs where worth the wait.
We will have to talk about the twitchy ride home over some beers at the next event. Again I am glad we were able to get you out and home.

Rob

Thanks to everyone who showed up to the outing, It was worth the trip.

I will let Bob speak up here it was his vehicle, we were just the worker bees. I do not know how good camera's work in the dark.

and Bob can't even blame me for bad spotting....

it's all about cruiser karma :grinpimp:

We had run al of the trails at Crozet when Chris suggested that we check out a rock sab that we had missed. Dwight made it up, Rob made it up, but I broke my rear pinion at the bottom of the climb. It's att BK's fault! It was about 4:00 but with some quick action from the BBRC crew, I made it home (in front wheel drive with a locker) just after 9:00.

Thanks again.

You drove from Crozet, to NOVA, in front wheel drive, with a locked front end??? That must have been an adventure! How did you guys keep the rear end from locking up? Pull out the big pieces & put it back together? Glad to hear you made it home okay! Wow. I bet your arms were sore.

We pulled the #*!!**# lock right out, removed the carrier, pulled the broken pinion out, reinstalled the carrier, loaded the bearings, installed Matts spare factory spider gears and then taped the snot out of the outer pinion stub into the housing to prevent gear lube from leaking. I guess it held up?!
By the way this was the 2nd rear LC pinion broken. Ted broke on in his 396 cruiser before lunch. I think he is going to stick that 14 bolt in it now and never worry about it again.

The drive home wasn't as bad as I expected once I got used to the Cruiser veering off every time I shifted or accelerated. I was a little worried at first that I would get pulled over for DUI.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the help.
