I replaced this setup with a 10TW3 about 2 or so years ago and now they are for sale. $420 shipped TYD. ($220 less than I paid.) In comparison they play very accurate and about 75% the output of the 10". This is a very good option for whoever is ready. The subs are also 8 ohms each which is beyond rare. So they can be run in parallel to achieve a 4 ohm load.

Do you need to run an aftermarket amp with these?

Absolutely. I'd say you'd need a 300 watt amp or so to run both woofers properly.
