Competing life priorities (expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro in Dec) are causing me to consider selling my 1980 FJ40. Many of you in the CLCC are familiar with it and the various upgrades I've done. A non-exhaustive list includes:

-Vintage Air AC
-FJ60 power steering kit
-Serpentine kit
-New American Racing wheels
-New BFG AT tires
-New 700R4 automatic transmission
-New stainless steel exhaust
-New rear-mounted fuel tank
-Tuffy lockable center console
-All new lenses (turn signals, etc)
-Skid plate
-New bits and pieces inside
-Stainless bolt kit

I don't expect to get much return on that money spent, but I hope that someone out there can make a reasonable offer. It's completely mechanically sound, and the only things left to make it perfect are addressing a rust bubble on each front fender.

Time for some new adventures.

But first I need some assistance with deciphering the split stick arrangement with the 4WD system. I kept forgetting to ask the IPOR folks after they put it in along with the automatic transmission. The right stick appears to engage 4WD (down, I think) and the left one moves through the high-neutral-low ranges (just not sure what order). Any ideas?

You are correct the right stick is 4wd shifter forward is 2wd back is 4wd. the left stick is high, neutral, and low. forward is low middle position is neutral, and back is high range.

Hope this helps

Thanks Cam. I was too impatient to call during regular business hours. :-)
