i would suggest buying a lexus since the service history is registered nationally unlike toyotas which is kept only at the local dealership. the toyota dealers are right if they tell you they dont have the service history, if it wasnt done with them, they wont have it.
 
I know this is late, but I need to inject that KBB does not reflect "Market Value" and it is usually way too high. If you want to look at any book values, look at the local region of NADA. KBB is used by dealers to pay as little as possible for your trade and mark up the vehicle as high as possible on their lot.
