Need some help. I am looking at buying a 2000 or 2001 LC, i have some nice prospects in mind. I am dead set on a LC but the girlfriend thinks that they are too small for me as I am 6'5" and 255 lbs. The last one that we drove was a 97 Anniversary edition that was great, but she said I looked like a fat guy in a little coat! So, against my instinct i did not buy. I now have a few questions...
1. are the 2000+ bigger in driver's area?
2. are the 2000 through 06 the same dimensions in the driver area?
she wants to see me in a seqoia but I am kind of partial to the LC being as I love my FJ.
So we are going down to the Toyota dealar tomorrow and I am going to test drive the Sequoia and then the 06 LC since they will both be onthe lot. And if the 00 and 06 LC are the same dimensions ( i know about all the cool gadgets that have been added through the years) and I fit, then it is a done deal. My DD is a F250 supercab that is fine, but lookign to get out of the trucks. Tired of 'em.

Any help would be great!

My 100 series has more room and seat adjustments than the 80. The head room clearence is about the same. There is more room in the Seq then the LC.

yes, the 100 has more room up front than the 80.
However, keep in mind that there is a mod available for the 80 driver seat that will give you a few (2 or 3?) extra leg room and that's raved about by the tall 80 guys...

I am comparable to you sizewise. You will fit fine in the LC. I have a 2001 and it is the most comfortable car for me I have ever owned. The LC also works great for the :princess: who is 5'6" and 120 lbs. In fact, she doesn't like anything else as much as the LC.

Hope this helps.

All US market 100's have roughly the same dimensions in the front. The exception is the optional sunroof which seems to come on 99.5% of the 100's. One other possible exception is cloth seats which I have personally never seen. The LX470 has a telescoping steering wheel. I'm not sure if the '00 LC has it. It is quite possible to modify the 100 seat to move back further but I've not looked at it that closely.

What about the width of the seat? compared to an 80? Leg room is a small concern, but i am more worried about the tail end room to wiggle a bit.

The hip room is about the same but the 100 has significantly more shoulder room which makes it feel bigger.

I've got a buddy who is 6'3" and about 300 lbs and he just sort of fits in his 80. When he is in my 100 he is far more comfortable, but he is still at home in the 80.

You should be fine.

My father-in-law is 6' 3" and 280. He rides with me in comfort all the time. We've had a number of 4 hour road trips without a complaint. Go for it!

i am 6'2' @ 300 lbs. The 100 is the best of the two. The 80 series seat is smaller in the back and shoulder area. Love them both, different style of ride.

My vote for overall comfort is the 100.

Thanks for the input. The drive yesterday was great, I drove the 06 LC very nice, and then drove a '02/'03/'04 sequoias. All 4x4's all limited. I felt like I had more room in the Sequoia. Which got me thinking. If I want to wheel why not just tralier the 40 and take it where i want to go, and use the seq as a DD. I know this is Blasphemy and probably get me flammed, but oh well. It is still a yota.

Then why do you want to get out of the truck if your towing? Maybe it's something with the ford? Did you consider a new extended cab tundra? Maybe a yota truck is your answer.
