I posted this in the Colorado Cruisers section, BUT thought that since ithis trail sees so many out-of-staters maybe I could post it out in the big Cruiser forum world. I have had many reports from Aspen locals that folks from California, Missouri, Texas, etc... come to Colorado to travel this trail. here's the announcement:

Pitkin County and Schmueser Gordon Meyer (SGM) Engineering of Glenwood Springs, CO are working together to remove and replace the 4WD bridge on Pearl Pass just below the Montezuma turn-off. This is one of two well known 4WD trails that link Aspen and Crested Butte and is usually only open for 2-3 months out of the year. The dates are Saturday July 31st and Sunday August 1st. The trail will be completely closed to vehicular traffic that weekend. If we incur inclement weather our project will be moved to the following weekend.

I am the project manager from SGM for this project and if anyone has any questions please feel free to post a thread reply.

If I should place this thread somewhere else please let me know...like I said, since this trail see's alot of out-of-staters i figured the public thread were a good start to notify people.

Did anyone get to see the bridge after the rebuild? We were able to crank out the removal and rebuild in the weekend adn then Pitkin County was up there tying up loose ends on the approaches and a water bar.

If you have seen it or driven over it comments, recommendations, etc... would be appreciated. Folks from my company and a few people from Pitkin County Road and BRidge will head back up this upcoming Spring to see how it fares in spring run-off and then tweak anything that needs it.
