Has anyone had any experience trying to cancel contracts with Telus?

I've been reasonable happy with their service, their customer relations part not quite as happy. Certain billing practices being one of them.

I have been on Telus DSL pretty much since it first came out, and all of our communication services (internet, TV, phone, cell phones) are with them.

Recently the :princess: bought a netbook, and unbeknownst to me picked up one of the Telus internet sticks shortly thereafter. Naturally they signed her up to a contract, and to cancel it is big bucks.

Being the vindictive bastard that I am when pissed off, I would like to threaten them with cancelling all my services and switching everything to Shaw if they do not do so. Now whether or not that is actually possible, remains to be seen.
 
Phone the Telus TV support line; they're still staffed by Canadians and explain your situation. I've had good success with them being very good to deal with and being able to refer me to specific people to help me out.

If you phone another Telus 'help' line, chances are it will be answered in India and then you're stuck in a 'script', which can be quite frustrating because they really have no interest in helping you but simply processing you. Just my own experience.
 
any luck jeff? im currently in the midst of bundling my services. currently have telus: landline, cell, net. shaw: cable. wife is on month to month cell with bell, and needs a new phone.

im really hating on telus atm. their service is absolutely atrocious...and their off shore C/S reps need a good curb stomp. looking to switch everything to rogers except internet. my cell contract expires in sept this year.

what was the original balance of your contract drew? wonder if they'd sting me for a big cancellation fee with 7 months left... IH8TELUS

I'm surprised you wouldn't switch internet as well. I have a couple of friends that switched to shaw after we did a couple of weeks of speed tests, after switching there comments to me were "I had no idea the internet was so fast"
I get consistent 12-14 Mb/s down, sometimes better.

You should be able to get out of it for under $150.... Even if you need to change your plan down to the minimum.



Shaw kills Telus on internet access. I'm using shaw for cable/internet, Vonage for phone and Rogers for Cell Phone
 
I dumped Telus. Went Shaw for everything. Cable (digital pack), 2 specialty channels, High speed net and home phone. For about $120.
 
I still have to get the wife to dig up our cell phone contract info and the stuff for her wireless stick, but after comparing the 2 companies bundles for internet/tv/phone, our Telus bundle is 106$, which is way cheaper that what's even advertised on the Telus site.
