This has become quite a popular conversion in the recent years with the influx of JDM models making their way to the United States. While the novelty of the electric hubs is fun while they work, many choose to proactively swap to manual or wait and swap to manual when they have an E-hub fail. For those wanting to keep the Ehubs functioning, we do offer slip rings and seals gaskets for them. However the electric motors and related components are no longer available and I’m yet to see an aftermarket source.

First off, what is an E-hub?

This will require you to disassemble the wheel hub assembly and swap the spindles. The E-Hub knuckle has a machined groove where the connector leads pass. This will need to be plugged, welded or otherwise blocked off to prevent grease contamination. To be continued...
