Right now we have a tech day set up for 12/11 at Convenience Car Care in Manassas. I need to get with Sam to go over some of the details and get them posted. I know that John Hall wants to use it to do some rear axle/brake work on his 62. If I could start getting a head count to let Matt at Convenience know how many to expect. Also any ideas of what you would like to do would be helpful.

I'm 1 that won't be able to make it

Tom

I'll be there. See my pm for contact info.

I'm unsure on what i'll need to do on the cruiser at that time. Might just rotate my tires and maybe spray some oil on the underside of the body/frame before salt gets on the roads. An air supply would be awesome, i'll bring my own air tools.
If anyone planning to be there wouldn't mind schooling on tuning the carb and setting the corrrect ignition advance that'd be sweet.

I did it last year with my father there to help. Sebastian offered monumental assistance as well. We humped it the whole day and we didn't get out 'til late.

That said, I'd be willing to help you. I'm going to change out a bunch of hoses on my truck, but that shouldn't take more than half the day I would think.

You might also want to contact John Hall about the instructions I laid out for the project. I photocopied all of the pertinent manual pages for the reubuild and taped them to a big cardboard display to make it real easy to refer to. Was a big help. John will hopefully bring it with him if you want it.

Ill be there. Is it possible to rebuild knuckles in one day?

I would love the help! I'm going to see if I can get one of my rover buddies to come lend a hand too. Having someone there who's done it before will be invaluable. Do they have a parts cleaner? I understand it's a messy job. I can print the knuckle rebuild section of the FSM if John doesn't have it. I remember you saying that was key.

Please bring a drop clothe or we won't be invited back. A thin coating of oil (or WD40) on the floor is not going to be appreciated...I had someone do that to me once when I worked at a gas station. I had to scrub the floor three times before I got it all.

Yup...

Chris -

Yes they have a parts cleaner, used it on the guts to my winch last time we were there.

I'm in....was hoping to be in a position to swap out some new rubber. Got to count the pennies first though.

Hey Guys,

I went by Convenience and talked to Matt. He said to plan on being there around 8:00 to start and they would like everyone to be cleaning up no later than 3:00. If we could have everyone post up by Dec. 6th that way I can give them a count on how many plan on being there so they can arrange things in the shop to accomodate us. As far as lunch goes it might work out for the best if everyone just brings some cash and pitch in for pizza or whatever you want and don't forget our hosts. Another thing is since Convenience is letting us use their shop please get in touch with Matt and get parts thru them, they also have a good supply of fluids. Please give Matt a call at 703-330-2237 or email him at conveniencecars@aol.com. Please let him know what you need no later than the 6th so he can make sure he can have it for you.

Thanks, Tom

tcch day / maintainance day

Right now it looks like there are 6 planning on being at Convenience on Sat. 12/11.
Bart (Von Hayek)
Sam (Devilmans Hand)
Chris (topherbecker)
Jon (StaleAle)
Ed (emorth)
John H

If anyone else is planning on going please post up or send me a pm so I can get with Matt and give him a head count no later than Monday morning the 6th.

Also please remember to get with Matt at Convenience no later than monday to order any parts you will need and check with him on fluids to make sure they have what you want to use if your task involves changing them. Remember that being able to use the shop for this is at no cost so it would be appropriate to purchace items thru Matt. His email and phone # is a couple posts ahead of this.

Thanks, Tom

I'm not doing my knuckles any more. I don't think there's time.
Maybe adjust the valves. Maybe TREs. Anyone have a puller?
-chris

bummer. I was hoping on a refresher course since i have to service my knuckles some time this winter.

I have a pickle fork...

Right now I've sent a pm to Cam about doing a Jan tech day at Iron Pig on tune up and valve adjustment. I have not heard anything back yet. Would you like to do one on knuckle rebuild instead and do tune up in Feb
