So, I bought one of the Fine Woodworking Digital Archives many, many years ago - back when they were on DVD instead of USB drive - and I have to say that I wasn't too impressed with it. Even at the time I could point to other similar collections that were better for both the indexing/searching as well as the actual media.

Has anyone bought a more recent version of any of their archives? I have a sizeable collection of Fine Homebuilding and Fine Woodworking magazines, but being able to search the entire collection and have it at my fingertips would be nice. I'm disappointed that they don't have any samples of screenshots of the Archive anywhere that I can find.

I did some deeper searches and found some reviews as recently as the 2019 version which still mention low resolution scans of articles and a less than desirable search function... So it doesn't sound like it has changed much, although they say that more recent articles had better resolution.
