Well the blower is back in and everything works as advertised!!

It was a simple fix, two screws to remove the old board in the motor housing itself and reinstall. No need to remove the old harness, I cut the capacitor off the old harness add a little shrink tube and I’m good to go. Again Restomod has been great to work with and if you have an older unit with an external capacitor on the motor leads just bench test before you install, they tell me this only effects a very small percentage of the early units and as you see it’s an easy fix.

Wow! I was just starting to get caught back up on your thread when I saw this and had to post. Most impressive. I'm a bit embarrassed by my plans now. Great looking dash!

Finished painting the dash, I still need to work on the glove box door alignment but I’ll deal with that when I install it for the final time.

I ordered harness tape ten days ago and it’s still held up at UPS in a storm so wiring is on hold till next week.

A tried and true measure for dealing with pig resto's. I know it seems to be working for me

A couple pictures for you, vents with longer screws to mount from the front side.

The highway 22 panel has the 22 circuit’s you are looking for in a compact package, it also has blinker, horn and fan relays built in, this picture shows were I mounted mine.

Over all I was very happy with the panel and would recommend it over the Pianless.

Question for all you guys that are restoring these old lights, have any of you tried to reproduce the lenses?

I thought I would try my hand at making some molds form the 1968 pig grill and top side blinker lenses, mine are in good shape but they are milky and fragile and before they get any worse I’ll need to find some replacements or make my own.

I bought a vacuum pump and some beakers for degassing the resin and been looking at some online videos but other than that I have nothing and I’m looking for someone that has experience to point me in the right direction.

Normally I don’t mind spending the time on research but unfortunately I’m running up against a time limit and need to decide if I’m going to use the 68 fenders and blinkers or move in a different direction, it looks like my biggest hurdle will be lenses if I go with the 68 front end and I cannot find OEM replacements for sale at any cost nor can I find were anyone is reproducing them.



Dash is wired, plumbed and installed for the last time, everything appears to be working properly so I am moving on to finishing up the rack and plumbing the rest of the systems.

You may have mentioned this before. I know you moved your 4bt as far back as you could in the engine bay for clearance. Did you end up needing to modify the transmission tunnel to clear the transmission or Tcase?

I have tried to get those lenses for the grille lights reproduced and struck out.
The side marker lights fit right into the '68 and '69 grilles, and you can still get the rear marker lights from Toyota, and then there is a guy who repros the amber lenses.

The rear valve cover is 4" from the firewall and centered left to right and yes I had to modify the floor for the split case.
I would have liked to offset the engine an inch to the drivers side to help with the 3" exhaust pipe clearance but the gear cover on the engine was inline with my power steering box so centered it is.

Ah, sorry for the confusion. I tried to get the grill light lenses reproduced and flamed out. No dice. No I understand what you mean about the '68 lenses, those would be sweet to reproduce. Volume would be, moderate...

I think you have to cut the grille to use those. The solution I describe drops in and bolts up.

Most all the circuits are ran and I’m getting ready to wrap with harness tape.

Hopefully I can literally wrap up this cluster *&$% wiring soon and move on to something else..
