I haven't looked yet, but if the allen head screws on the face are real and not just decorative, I was thinking of replacing them with longer screws, and having nuts welded to the backside of the dash to screw into so that the vents screw in from the front instead of the stock setup from behind.

That is how mine are now..

Here's what I've been working on, the roof support. As you know, I cut out the factory supports then Lizard Skinned and the Monstalined the roof. Needing some kind of supports, this is what I came up with. It will house some rocker switches, radio speakers and the dome lights. The back dome light will hinge down with two hinges, so I can have some light, when I build the drawers. Hope it all works out!

It will also have a navigational light for my Wife. It's on a goose neck, she can put anywhere and has both white and red LEDs, the red for stealth mode. :) On the sides I put some aircraft hold down strips. They have different o rings and bolt hold downs, that you can slide down to any position. Good for netting or flashlight mounts, even a shotgun mount, etc.

It goes up tonight, if all goes good. I bought some 3M seam sealer in beige, to put between the roof and the supports. I had a heck of a time bending the square tubing to the shape of the roof, but got them pretty close.

That looks great Ron and will give you some really nice extra features

Bob,

I tend to dose off when I sit in my easy chair. I can do a lot with a 10 minute nap!

Did you ever think to intall that sort of stuff we find in the planes who fall down from the roof console in case of air depression? It would nicely complete your console I think.
hihihi.

Don't forget the disco ball mount!

I like that. Want to make another one? Yours makes my added supports look like crap.

Thanks guys!

We got it in there, but I need to tweak a few bolt holes. I can't weld anything without it warping. What I like about it, you don't see up in there, looking from the outside.

Pablo, I'm not sure about the disco ball, but maybe some fancy drop down cup holders, got to try and stay up with JMack!

Dang it Ron. I want one like that! Are you going to leave it as is or covering it. I was thinking of something similar to what you have done, but then covering it with a thin sheet of plywood.

David,

I'm leaving it like that. Used the same color Monstaliner, so it blends in nice. Having it open adds to the head room. I used 1 1/2" tubing, could of went smaller, but had a heck of a time finding thin speakers. Covering it up and adding some more sound deadener would be good too.

Looks good Ron!!!

Stay up with J Mack? Looks like I'm going to have to kick it into high gear before you put me another lap down..

Cool. I still need to put my roller bender together. [emoji1]
