hey, dont remember who i was talking tires with at the meeting last night but here are the ones i liked and seem to do alright out here... Narrow S.S. | Interco Tire

That depends, I think I paid $200 for 4 used 34x9.5s about a year ago. I have a real problem keeping air in them. Basically, they are flat after every use. they are on stock FJ40 rim. I may be stepping up a couple tires sizes after a 60 series axle SOA this winter, too bad I am in Calgary or I could sell them to you.

Mano, i'm looking for a set to get my BJ42 back on the road. I drive to and from Ft.Mac and could stop in when you're ready to sell. Let me know.
Cheers!

Dan what tires were you running on your BJ42 when you lived in Van? They were tall and skinny but you said they were scary on side slopes... BFGs of some sort if I recall correctly...

LOL...where you goin with this Mark??? I was running 33/9.5 BF Goodfornothins'. Swampers, especially bias were night/day compared to those, 34 LTB's, S.S's were nice on my 42 for rippin round town...

We were talking about this at the meeting the other night and I was just saying not to get those ones that you had.

Gotcha, yeah they sucked ass and were even worse on a loaded 60 rippin down rig roads in the middle of winter...

Ya, I bet. I'm surprised you kept them and put them on another truck.

I had q78's on my 45 for about 12 seconds once upon a time. drove pretty nicely once they got round, way better than the cheapo 35's it had on it when I got it, but between that and all the other "sound and fury" on that thing the noise was too much.

those smaller 33"military tires are skinny, at some point when I run out of projects(:bang:) I'll fix up my trailer and put those on it.

You still bitchin about swampers? If you went off road once in a while you'd grow to love em!!!

duuuude, parking lots and speed bumps are where it's at....:princess:

not bitchin, just sayin, loud as fxxx, drove ok.

the mtr's I replaced them with, were waaaay better on the road, good in snow, and for the occasional bluemoon when I had the time or inclination to go wheeling, better than most tires...

That and being a cheap bastard, listening to $$ tires burn off as I drove didn't work for me.

Come on, just a little morning hackin!

Ya, bias swampers are lumpy (especially when its -10 and with 10psi and it hasn't moved in a month), loud and follow every ridge and rut on the road and trail, demand lots of attention on the highway, rip the steering wheel out of your hand when the side lugs grab dirt, slick in the rain, the boggers dig like crazy when you get stopped, blah blah blah...

They also are wicked on the trail, on rocks, in mud, in snow (when siped), awsome sidewall strength and puncture resistance, aired downthey have excellent side wall flex...

Ya, I wouldn't put them on the 4runner even if :princess: let me but I love em on the cruiser.

heh, yeah I was pretty much agreeing with ya, if I had a bush truck no question it'd have swampers on it....(or maybe some other tire I found cheap...:hillbilly:)

but those morning drives to work with those lumpy bastards was killin me...last 1/4 mile they were finally round...and gawd help you if you were hungover...:crybaby:

was kinda funny, I couldn't see s*** out of my rear view mirror it was shaking so bad:lol:
