Those trail teams need to give more love to the old school FJ40's. Some of these kids are younger than my original, but they are out there promoting the new FJ with no knowledge of where it came from.

No they'e not. Every promotional event / piece of literature / propaganda etc all give credit to the legend that started it all. I'm not sure where you get your mis-information from, but it is just that. :)

That seems like a high TLCA # Rusty for such words.

Happy trails,

Yeah, it's high since I never felt the need to join up sooner, but now that I am in a club, they wanted me to join. No worries, I won't be renewing the memebrship since the mag, the only thing that I get out of the memebrship, is now dedicated to FJ Cruisers. Not to mention they are going to raise the fees again. I was not directing that towards you in particular, but when one of the guys on the team says to me my FJ40 is not a cruiser, that just tells me this guy, who works with the trail tema, does not know much about the heritage. I still get out of my 40 what I wanted when I got it years ago. Fun...

excuse me? have you ever talked to any of them?

My experiences have been exactly the opposite.

Cancelling TT because they have FJC coverage? You remind me of the guy who made all the fuss about the LX450 on the cover.

Yep, i went to one of their meets. I agree, the majority of them were cool guy and gals, but one bad apple spoils the bunch. At least it did for me, and that's what matters to me. I can't say how others were treated at other events, but I can say how I was treated by the one individual. The FJ Cruiser coverage is just the last straw. If I want a Toyota Landruiser publication to be dedicated to the vehicle they formed the club and zine around, then I don't think it's out of line to not be happy with the publication. I pay for it by the way, not for much longer.

Rusty, of course you can do whatever you want, but it seems that there is "some" coverage of FJ Cruisers in TT but that over 80% of it is still LandCruiser based. Sounds like you're throwing the baby out with the bath water. BTW, the FJCruiser is not the nemesis of the automotive industry.

TT has had truck and 4Runner coverage for years.

The FJC is at least as worthy of coverage. It's extremely important to the future of Toyota 4 wheeling.

We can continue to talk about only the past until we all die off, or we can move forward with the best new Toyota product in many years and the first one geared toward the American wheeling enthusiast in 23 years.

Although this is interesting to read the back and forth discussion about the FJ Cruiser in relation to Toyota Trails and the future of 4 wheeling I say post more pictures from the event. :)

4rnr, post up some more of those pictures I know you have. ;)

I see your point, but I do have my opinion also. The new FJ Cruiser is not the first 4 wheel drive geared towards the American wheeling enthusiast in 23 years. There are other makes that I will not mention. TT can cover all the Toy 4 wheel drives they want, but they need to change the name to T4WDA instaed of TLCA.

Flexing:

Matt - "Texan1983" in a kick-ass Wheel stand. He almost rolled over, and Jamie's buddy was holding his truck down:

Matt on "Butt Crack":

A shot over Jamie's hood of Matt coming over a hill in "The Playground":

Me (Renaud33) going up a hard core hill climb:

Jamie (and his PreRunner) pulling an FJC (4x4) that got stuck in the mud going up a hill - He was behind him when he got stuck, and had to go up the hill around him to get in front and pull him up. He was the 2nd person Jamie had to strap - the 1st being Matt "Texan1983" who was high-centered on a hill that Jamie had just gone over.
There WILL be pics of that too :D

Everyone stopped on the trail:
