Talk me out of a Samurai?

I'd love another LC, but the gas was absolute murder and I hated the idea that I had to spend 1k on sliders.

I've always had an eye for Samurais. And I've really been missing the trails along w/ the people I met on them.

How about a spring over Sammy with 31's? I could go the lockright route again, bolt on sliders for ~$300, and be back on the trails.

I don't plan on multi day trips in it, so I don't think I'll miss the interior space. Will a Sammy with 31's run 70mph down the highway w/o regearing? There anything else I need to think about?

Both Tin Tops were sprung over running 31's. The Soft Top was running Trail Toughs YJ springs, a 1.6 16 valve motor, 33 boggers, sidekick 4.56 gears, Lockright lockers F/B, sidekick p/w steering w/Calmini bracket, Shrockworks front Bull Bar w/Warn 8000, Sprider Trax synthetic line w/aluminum fairlead, petroworks 4/2/1 t-case gearing, Petroworks rock doors and etc.

I've always eyed Sami's... My only concern (having never been in one) would be room for me.

I like the idea of a little rig that can do anything, and it would be great to see you on the trail again.
