High desert dreaming in the swamps.
We're going to head either up or down (not sure yet, likely up given he is Australian and hills may scare him) old La Bajada tomorrow (Friday) leaving Santa Fe some time after 10am. Anyone interested in tagging along? I'd love to show him American Cruiser life. He has an '82 BJ42 LX - Dancar here on Mud.

If I can sneak out of work I might head out in my Tundra. Are you on a CB or HAM?

Hi lads. Just leaving Santa Fe now. Going to La bajada w village. Should meet there by just after 12. 570-0679

I'm here at the old wooden bridge. Will wait until 1210. It's 1155

Great fun

Looks like you had a nice day for the trip!

Yes, Daniel had a great time. He was blown away by having such wheeling - free - just a few minutes from home. There is wheeling like that in Adelaide but you drive for six hours to get there and then pay $65 for the privilege. We really are fortunate here in the Land of Enchantment...

It's easy to take it for granted, but we shouldn't! I appreciate hearing about the differences down under - we really do have a lot of good things going for us here in NM.

So true. And I never truly appreciated what a fantastic place it was until I lived in Australia for seven years. So great to be home.

I vote for more camping and four wheeling.....!!!!!

I second that! Off to Mount Silbaugh this weekend. Perhaps another Old La Bajada loop the following weekend :-)
