Tacoma vs civic

Well a Civic ran a red light and hit the back side of my truck last night. The taco took the hit like a champ, the civic not so much. Thankfully the rear bumper took all the hit. I've already pulled the bumper back in place and popped the dent out.

The guy was going to buy his son a car tonight. He had cash in hand and gave me $1000 cash to not turn it into insurance! I'd say I came out pretty good.

Went out and took some pics today. There was a decent sized dent put I popped it out no problem. Now there is only that little ding and where the black mark is its dented a little but you can't really tell until you get within a foot or 2 of the truck. I'm sure I will just high clearance the bed and forget about it. I could have done more damage than this wheeling.

He was probably 'riding dirty'. You may have been able to sucker more money than that out of him. Not too bad of a deal. I would've taken it also.

Pretty good gain on your part. Considering you took care of the dent yourself and gained a $1000. It would have costed you all that and maybe more to get a new side of the truck bed at a repair shop.

Yeah I may have been able to be he seemed like a genuine guy. As soon as it happened he ran over to the truck and made sure everyone was ok and admitted it was all his fault. With the minimal damage to my truck and seeing as how $1000 isn't to easy to come by now-a-days I gladly accepted. He said his son just turned 16 and was getting a car and couldn't afford any higher insurance. If I wouldn't have had the steel bumper on the truck I would have gotten insurance involved but I could get bigger dents wheeling than what I ended up with. Overall I'm pretty happy.

Man. Most people that hit my car just pull away and leave with no witnesses. I would have taken the 1k too.
