So what is the largest tire advised for a stock Taco?

Prob won't happen for a while but I am not familiar with these tires sizes and am surely not familiar with sizing for the Tacomas.

Thanks all!!

by the way, it's an 09

32". So either 265/75/16 or 235/85/16 (personally recommend this size).

so that means 235 width tire with 85% of the width in tire height and 16in wheel? i was at the dealership today trying to decipher the sizing's and this is how i understood it.

Yes, so a 235/85/16 is 235mm wide, the sidewall is 199.75mm, with a 16" rim.

BTW, did you get the Off-Road or Sport? Your sig just says TRD.

Off-Road...sport aint sh*t but an nonfunctional hood scoop right?

Yeah, Sport is junk, IMO. They don't even have the LSD in the 09 models. Lame.

did i miss something? no LSD (limited slip diff) in the 09? i just picked one up and heard nothing about that change..fill me in if i missed something...thanks
or do you mean on the 09 Sport has no LSD?

TRD Off-Road gets rear lockers, not LSD's. IIRC, 09 Sports don't come with LSD's.

There's been talk that the mechanical LSD in the rear end of the TRD Sport has been eliminated in favor of electronic traction control/LSD. I haven't cared enough to pay close attention, but if you got the TRD OR you're fine.

this 09 has what i believe are a few new features when it comes to traction control and down hill assist. haven't mastered them yet, but soon enough

Why the 235 85 16? I have a 2013 Double Cab Long Bed Tacoma not lifted!
235/85r16 is a 31.7” tall tire that is just under 9.5” wide. It’s a good option to consider on a non lifted truck as its narrow and won’t contact the cab body mount. Narrow tires also tend to do better in mud and ice as your pounds per square inch is higher allowing for better traction.

265/75r16 or 265/70r17 is about the same height but an inch wider on the foot print.
