I am in the process of doing a resto mod style interior in a 87 wagon that incorporates a 2005 - 2008 Accessory Meter in the overhead console. My FJ60 doesnt have a speed sensor nor a ECU and I noticed that the Ambient Temp/Compass function relies on a Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) signal. Does anyone know how to defeat or mimic that signal to the gauge?

I don't think that you need either to use the accessory meter, but you would need the ambient temp sensor. I would just leave pin 3 in the connector empty as that is coming from the combo meter and im not really sure what that does and just wire in the rest of the connector like it is in the ewd

Kinda what I was thinking. But I read on another site that some connection is required. I am thinking that it’s just likely 12v. But I’ll start at “open” and see what happens. I do how’ve the thermocouple sensor
