3.4 litre 5VZFE I think from 1996 to 2004

Displacement cm3 (cu. in.) 3378 (206.1)
Bore × Stroke mm (in.) 93.5 × 82.0 (3.68 × 3.23)
Compression 9.6 : 1
Max. Output SAE-NET 142 kW @ 4800 rpm
(190 HP @ 4800 rpm)
Max. Torque SAE-NET 298 Nm @ 3600 rpm
(220 ft lbf @ 3600 rpm)

2RZ (2.4L I4), 142hp @5,000rpms 160ft lbs @4,000rpms

and

3RZ (2.7L I4) 150hp @ 4,800 / 177ft lbs @4,000

Wristy, if your swapping in be careful. I once had a 94(?) T100 with a 2.7 that had a distributor, and my donor motor was a 2.7 with coil packs. I had thought that the coil pack bracket was a block off for the distributor hole. I was wrong...:frown:
Behind it was the bung, but it was not machined out to accept the distributor.

And that spelled end-of-story. I was not gonna swap the head off a running motor for that project.

The T had a R-150 tranns in it, so I imagine putting a V6 tranny behind it can be easy.

I've seen a 3RZ from LCEngineering w/ a carb on it ;)

would the 2RZ be in a 97 taco?

and no Hilux i am NOT putting a taco engine in my truck
i just put a 22RE in there

:D good man!

Naa, I'm not gonna say they're bad, it's just they haven't been through the "trial by fire" YET, like know the R/E's have...

AND DON'T EVEN THINK ABOUT USING YOUR STORIES ABOUT YOUR "HIGHWAY MILEAGE ONLY" TRUCK TO DEFEND IT! :D We all know how brutal the NA highway system can be... :flipoff2:

It was only in the 2WD's base trucks (back when they were small  ) and I'm not quite sure they were in the Pre-Posers...er, Runners, sorry.

Yes - 2RZ for a 97 taco.

2RZ-FE (2.4L) would be for a 95-04 2 wheel drive Taco

95-04 4X4s come with the 3RZ-FE (2.7L) or the 5VZFE (3.4L)

06 and later V6s are 1GR-FE
