I would replace the idler bearing for the AC first. 95% chance that is all that it is and like Thad said there is a place on East Chestnut across the street from Auto Zone that you can go to get the new bearing for under $10.00. I went through all of the trouble of replacing the AC bearing and it still made the noise. The idler bearing gets noisy when the AC clutch engages and stops when it disengages so you think it is the AC bearing when it isn't.
 
Thanks for the heads up Marty! I really just need to get down there and take a look at it... right now I have higher priorities for it... and its about to the point I dont need AC anymore.
