So i started to drive across the state with this behind me

and i picked up my friend. 5 hours or so into the journey we spot some hitchhikers. Four of them in the middle of no-where. Their car cad died. Six people, 400lb of gear and the boat. At 70mph she starts swaying badly. It was scary, so we drove at 50 for the rest of the journey.
When we get into town i found this

Its time for new links and i wanted to go quick release. Any ideas on doing this cheaply, like modifying the Napa ones or another method maybe?

Front is more difficult but the rear is simple. Use 3/8 oush button release pins on the upper and lower ends. I don't have any pics of my truck with the links in with the pinds installed, but both my trucks are done this way and the pins work painlessly.

That one looks more secure than my drivers side front. Its barely there itself. From what I remember reading it didnt help much to have the sway bars removed at least offroad? Which is oppisite of what I have always been told with other vehicles.

I am going to have to do this on the front too, but have been waiting on getting the lift on, which seems to be forever. :(
 
WSUCruiser: that front shockie doesn't look very good. It's not just your swaybar that needs work by the look of it.
I have more leafs on my springs than you have in yours but when I disconnected my front swaybar I hardly noticed any difference to the handling (but this was without any extra load). Toyota never fitted a swaybar to the rear of my cruiser.
Your boat doesn't look tooo heavy and it does look well balance on the trailer and it doesn't appear to push your cruiser down at the back.
I would think that with some decent shockies and your swaybar fittings replaced then your cruiser would handle heaps better. You might want to upgrade your leaf springs if you are going to add too much weight to your cruiser, also.

Rodd, i know, shocks are on my list. Any clues on good value shocks. I don't plan on lifting it for a while, but i will be wheelin' it a bit.
Maybe this requires a different thread, and definetly a search.

I use energy suspension extended links from auto zone, about $20 a set. In the rears I use 3/8" push pins x 1.5" long from the depot. On the fronts I dont fool with quick release set ups. I used to have some like Exiled has but I kept loseing the pins when they were off. With the energy suspension links a 14mm open and a 14mm socket and they are off. I think it is actually faster than the quick links; nothing to line up, less crap to lose etc....
 
pics of the parts you described. I know I am going to have to mock up something b/c of my 4" alcans just would like to save $ where I can and would love to be able to see, not just read about things.
