Hey everyone, I'm currently deciding between a pre-owned 200 or new 4Runner. I'm well versed in what can be done suspension-wise in a 4Runner. For the cruiser, from what I've researched so far, it looks like a lot of 200-series owners are running old man emu/ironman, radflo, or Icon, with somewhere between a 33-34" tire. Is there anything holding the 200-series back from a 3-4" lift up front? The control arm angle and cv-shaft looks like they could take it, granted you could dial caster in. I ask cause if I went with a cruiser I'd really like to mount 35's to compensate for it's overall size off road.

Alternatively, how are you all fitting 35's? Trimming or body lift? Or does a 2-3'' lift clear them ok?

Thanks in advance. I haven't been able to find any clear write-ups on this.

There are plenty of folks here running 35's on their 200's.
KDSS relocation brackets, bump-stops, removed or trimmed mud-guards... 2-3" lift.

After selling my fully built 100 series when it was 16 years old...I briefly considered a 4Runner TRD Pro.

But I soon came to my senses, and found a perfect 2008 with only 48k miles...for less than the 4Runner.

Once you get used to a Land Cruiser, it's reeeeally hard to imagine driving anything else...at least in the over-lander category.

start at the tire/wheel data base, and look for members running 35s. some have links to build threads, or just do a search for their posts.

look at MScruiser's build thread "Fat Amy" he documents the build process pretty thoroughly, from mild lift to Foam Cell pro's. He's even fabbed up a custom body lift and running 37s now. Willy Beamin is another member running 35s with a lot of info here.

there are a few (Bjowett, Just Differentials, and myself) that have swapped over the tundra control arms, CVs, and steering tie rod ends.
it gives a little wider stance in the front and potential for more lift.

It's tucked away in a thread somewhere here, but a shop in asia installed a tundra 4" kit that drops the diff and uses the taller steering knuckles. not my cup o' jo, but interesting none the less.

look on copper state cruisers February run of the month. there's pictures and videos of what mildly lifted 200's and a stock LX can do.
These trucks will surprise you. sure did blow away the jeep guys standing on the top of the hill. after waiting almost an hour for the jeep club to climb the little stair steps, they thought they would laugh as our mall crawlers attempted it. All our trucks walked up without a second thought. Had them scratching their heads....what is that thing anyway? a land cruiser?
A 200 on 34's or 35's can get through quite a bit...add in sliders and a rear bumper and you're golden!
