x2 That is incredible! How long did it take you to build that? Were you contracted to do that or did you just whip it out on your own?

I made it in 2005/6 as part of my thesis in art school. I spent five months on it (nearly every day). It now lives in a guy's yard in Palos Verdes. It is definitely NOT fireproof, but we agreed that when it was ready to disintegrate that he would demo it at his discretion. He also bought a painting that he will not be destroying...


Moving it was fun. It's made in 20 modules that bolt together for "easy" setup. I rented a 24' flatbed and moved three modules at a time (seven trips to move it), and another three or four trips to assemble it.

. . . and that is why I avoided Swamis. If my buddies wanted to surf there, I would surf Boneyard or walk down to Pipes.

I've seen the cove like this. It's an amazing sight!
