sorry to bother u, but i have been informed that some landcruisers came with a factory supercharger option (simmilar to the 4agze and 1ggze superchargers)

is this correct and if so was the cruiser or supercharger available in australia, if not available in australia is it possible to get 1 from Japan?

i have been to some import wreckers but they have no idea what im talking about

It might help to tell us where you are located, as well as the engine type. I'm assuming you're in Austraria.

Anyway, a lot of the diesel 80's came with factory turbo, but no superchargers (on petrol, either).

You can purchase aftermarket turbo chargers (Safari, AVO?, etc...), as well as superchargers relatively easily (but not cheaply ).

In the US you can get a TRD/Kazma supercharer from Toyota dealers and there are a couple of shops that have been working on turbo charger systems for the petrol 80.

There's a TRD supercharger system in Japan as well, but it's WAY pricy.

thanks for the reply, yes i live australia, i was 'told' that there was a factory blower for the FZJ80, if so it would make fitting easier and not to mention, cheaper

No there was never a factory blower in oz

thanks for the help, i was hoping for a slightly cheaper way of supercharging it but it look like the name brand superchargers r the only option

Turbocharge if your looking for alot better reliability. Superchargers are always boosting the engine. Even when you don't need it. When your forcing air continuously, it wears your engine. On a Turbo, low RPM driving = not enough spooling to get some boost during normal driving.

A supercharger needs engine power to make it run. A turbocharger needs nothing more than exhaust to power it. With the Turbo, you get more power than a supercharger.

Theres a Toyota Crown 2door thats makeing well above 1000hp using the FZJ80's I6. The torque is sooo good, it shut down 2 1000hp dynometers.

turbo is always better tho the cost of setup would much out weigh the cost of the blower, i am thinking that to do it of the above mentioned engine the easiest way would b to source a half cut and transplant it, tho i dont no what my chances r of finding a half cut in aus.

if you are truly serious about supercharging your V8 Landcruiser then you need to talk to Bullet Cars in Queensland, Australia. http://www.bulletcars.com/performance_parts/superchargers/

They actually build a car called the Bullet which is ADR compliant (Australian Design Rules/Regulations...cant remember what the R stands for) which has the 4.7L V8 in it and the supercharged Landcruiser in the link above that they also convert is also ADR compliant.

In short ADR compliance means it can be legally registered in Australia as it complies with all emission regulations....and apparently doesn't void Toyotas warranty.

I don't quite have the cash for it at the moment...we shall see.

Can we get this in the states? Becuase I can't seem to find a TRD charger /chip combo anywhere over here for a 99' LC with the 4.7...
