TWO THUMBS UP!!!(ok, only 1 thumb up in the pic)

I already heard great reviews about this product... but i finally got to actually use mine. It worked flawless! I highly recommend it. A few jerks in the can and off the fluid went. It really traveled fast down the hose too. I was thoroughly impressed. I drained each 5 gallon can in about 1 minute flat!!!!!!! It's very nice to not have to pull the cans down and unstrap everything. Also, when at the gas station i just stand on the side and fill them too. They never have to move.

anyhoo.... i just wanted to give you guys some feedback on the product. Pick yours up today...

where can I get a set of cans like that?
you dont have any leakage from them up there?

American Army Surplus in Placentia, CA. He has tons of them in really good/clean shape.

Leaks? They're NATO cans! I can hang them upside down brotha! Seriously, they dont leak.. they actually had quite a bit of pressure when i opened them up:)

my HF siphon is *not* working great. Need to shake the dang thing a lot and even then... don't get that one (big, bluish hose)

Mickey Rubicon has one of those rigged up to his truck, only it's for jugs of wine.

This where I picked mine up. Back in the day they only had the Non CAL legal ones NATO style... I figured have so many other non legit things on my rig two cans on the roof was my last concern... Hands down the NATO Style cans are the best made.

Try opening those bad boy's up at Big Bear after you've filled them at sea level.... Now that’s fun....

so they are absolutely legal for gas use in california and I won't get ticketed for not having a flux capacitor valve thingy on them?

I saw one here at a store and the owner said it wasn't legal to use them anymore....confused.

did you get them dipped to reseal them? can you find new rubber seals if needed?

They're only legal here if they're used and have already been here. You cannot buy NEW. They will not sell them to you. You have to have your buddy in another state buy them then send them back to you if you want NEW.

Dipped or resealed? No. These are super clean and appear to never been used. They dont need new rubber seals the lids snaps so tight that i don't have to worry. If i need a new seal i'll toss the whole can and buy a new one for $10.00.

Hmmm.... a few jerks in the can...I'm not touching that one!

Back on subject, as Dave said and what I did, have an out of state buddy purchase the Wedco cans and ship them to you. You want the NON CARB compliant ones you can't buy new here in the Republic of Kalifornia. Blitz cans of any shape for form SUCK! The Wedco non carb cans run about $45 new plus shipping.

Back on subject 2, I haven't used my super siphon yet, but I've seen Alvaro using his and they do work very well. No need to shlepp the cans off the roof. Only downside is that you can't fill them as full. I've filled mine full to the brim, put them on their side and bounced them all over Anza Borrego without one leak or spill.

is it safe to fill them on the roof? I take mine off the carrier and fill them on the ground because of the static/grounding issues.
They don't recommend filling in a truck bed b/c of the potential fire hazard and I worry about the roof also... any thoughts on that?

If you don't mind my asking, what's the going rate on one of those cans?

Around $7.00-$10.00 each. Cheap!

Yep, i know about this. Its a risk you take. I personally have never heard of it happening in real life.. but the chance is definately there. I think i'll talk on the cellphone at the same time :D

The static should not be an issue if you take a few precautions. The main problem with filling the cans in the truck bed is the liners and the static that they generate. Even if you discharge yourself you can produce more by only a little movement before you finish filling the can and then... If you climb onto your sliders or door sill to fill them just discharge by touching the metal of the truck, will do that anyway, and as long as you don't step down untill you are done you should be fine. The insulating factor of the tires from ground should make all ok.

Brent you beat me to it. I was all set to go with the jerk and flow jokes. Oh well.

Dave thanks for the report.
